Bronze Casting & Machining

Kormax casting capabilities include Continuous casting and Centrifugal casting. Continuous casting can be produce diameters from 1″/25mm up to 10″/254mm as well as square and rectangular profiles. Alternatively, Centrifugal Casting can achieve diameters from 8″/203mm up to 118″/3000mm spun bronze castings. In addition to these methods Kormax can also source Extruded Bronze. Extrusion achieves a more consistent grain structure and better tensile strength consistency than other casting methods. Extruded Bronze is generally performed for highly critical components such as Aircraft undercarriage components.

Bronze is a versatile and commonly used material because it comes in many Bronze alloys and compositions. Bronze is strong and versatile, making it the material of choice for many sacrificial bushings. Bronze bushings and wear pads have long lifespans and resist shock, impact, wear and corrosion. They require an external lubricant, for example grease or oil, at installation and during operation to reduce friction and wear.
